하모니카 OS 프로젝트는 2014년 미래창조과학부의 프로젝트로 시작된 국내 개방형 OS 사용자를 위한 프로젝트로, 현재 커뮤니티 기반의 오픈소스로 운영되는 프로젝트입니다.

하모니카 5.0의 코드네임은 한라 입니다.하모니카 커뮤니티는 현재 다국어 입력기 nimf, 화상회의 hamonia, 원문검색엔진 hamonikr finder 등 60여개의 프로젝트가 깃허브에서 활발하게 진행되고 있으며, 오픈소스 교육 및 컨설팅 등 다양항 활동을 통해 오픈소스 소프트웨어 재단, 한국 공개소프트웨어 협회와 함께 국내 공개SW 생태계의 활성화를 위해 노력하고 있습니다.

하모니카는 데스크톱 사용자에게 최적화된 다양한 편의성을 제공하는 개방형 OS로 최근까지 국내 33개 공공 및 민간부문에서 40만명 이상이 사용하고 있는 운영체제입니다.

하모니카는 국내 최대의 오픈소스 커뮤니티 하모니카([https://hamonikr.org](https://hamonikr.org/))와 유튜브 채널을 통해 언제든 사용 중 궁금한 점을 쉽게 해결할 수 있으며, 기업이나 개인 누구나 무료로 사용할 수 있도록 제공됩니다.
